Born in the northern city of Allahabad in UP, India, Nasira Sharma has been a trail blazer in the Hindi literary world. She did her Masters in Persian and Literature, but decided to choose Hindi as her medium of expression.
With twelve novels and nine story collections in her repertoire, Nasira Sharma has recently published 5 volumes of her translated work – Adab Mein Baanyi Pasli (अदब में बाईं पसली) in Hindi from Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Pashto and Dari.
Besides achieving several literary laurels, she has also been awarded by Sahitya Academy, India’s National Academy of Letters, for her Hindi novel ‘Paarijaat’. She has edited and authored other books as well.
