Cine Ink asks the two key players Sanjoy Roy and Namita Gokhale from the Jaipur Literature Festival team to reveal their success formula. Here are top five tips before you plan a literary festival.

Founded in 2006, The Jaipur Literature Festival has become truly international with its editions in Colorado, New York, Houston, Adelaide, London, Toronto and Belfast, the latest one in June 2019.

The Irish Times, 07 July 2019, wrote: What began with a handful of authors, has transformed into a global literary phenomenon in the last decade, having hosted over 2,000 speakers and welcomed over a million book-lovers from across India and the world.
Described as the “greatest literary show on Earth” by Tina Brown, the festival is a sumptuous feast of ideas which celebrates the word, both written and spoken, and stories which build cultures, communities and individuals, setting stimulating conversations against a colourful, festive backdrop.

The JLF directors are the writers Namita Gokhale and William Dalrymple and it is produced by Sanjoy Roy of Teamwork Arts.

A Hindustani Affair in the Digital Times, Cine Ink is a London-based digital media portal specialising in Hindi and Urdu content, launched by Pervaiz Alam and Achala Sharma, former broadcasters with the BBC.
