Global Philanthropy Media Network Formed With Cine Ink

New Delhi, 17 January, 2019: Nagrik Foundation, the philanthropy arm of Hindi Daily Dainik Bhaskar (NOIDA), announced a new initiative ‘Global Philanthropy Media Network’ (GPMN) with Cine Ink to forge media partnerships in achieving a better and more sustainable world for all, as enunciated in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).   

“Nagrik Foundation and Cine Ink, a London-based digital hub of radio and television programmes, have come together to work nationally and Internationally for the development of marginalised and weaker sections of the society through advocacy, research, consultancy, training and capacity building,” said Deepak Dwivedi, Chairman of the newly announced initiative, GPMN. Mr. Dwivedi is also the Editor-in-Chief of Dainik Bhaskar, NOIDA Edition, one of India’s leading newspapers, and heads its board as Chairman. 

“Cine Ink would be partnering with Nagrik Foundation and its affiliates Nagrik News, Nagrik Dialogue, News 24/7 and  Dainik Bhaskar in the field of digital media, particularly, radio and television programme production. We have a mission to work in solidarity with the poor and marginalised communities by participating in their struggle to eradicate poverty, patriarchy and injustice. The new initiative would help in pooling resources with some of the best in media” said Sandeep Saxena, Consulting Editor Development Sector, Dainik Bhaskar.

He added, “Our overall goal is a just social order brought through enhanced democratic participation and structural transformation with the help of new initiatives in forging media partnerships.” 

Commenting on the new initiative, Cine Ink’s Director and renowned broadcaster, Achala Sharma, former Head of the BBC Hindi Service, London, said:

“Cine Ink has been producing enlightening radio and television programming in Hindi, Urdu and English languages, most of them presented and produced by some of the best known broadcasters of international eminence. Cine Ink, with its founder Pervaiz Alam, who has done some path-breaking work in association with the UNICEF and IPPF, specialises in producing socially-relevant programming, best suited in the digital age. We are pleased to be associated with both Nagrik Foundation and Dainik Bhaskar in fulfilling the mandate of Sustainable Development Goals which have already been identified as the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.” 

Deepak Dwivedi added: “The new partnership will enable us to focus on using the power of media in harnessing its potential for the development of the society from the tehsil to village levels by training and skilling citizen reporters. We will be sharing each other’s expertise as well as content in producing a series of newspaper reports, radio and television programmes, and organise events at national and international levels.”
